Amira
Amira survived a trauma that is hard to describe. Thrown in the rubbish bin, tied in a bag with Lumi, she spent hours trapped, with no escape. When we found her, she looked at us, frightened and mute, unable to react, paralysed with fear. For several days we tried to rescue all the abandoned souls, and Amira was one of the first to let her hand be taken the first night – as if, despite the horror, she wanted to believe that there are good people. From then until today, Monday, our hearts broke every time we looked into their fear-filled eyes.
Amira has been de-wormed internally and externally and thankfully has not needed any further medical intervention. She is not yet spayed or vaccinated, but we will cover all those costs – she now just needs a patient and gentle family.
Amira is a female tarted female about a year old, with no visible health problems, weighing 3.5kg. She is shy by nature, but with patience and lots of love she is beginning to purr softly and show her tummy, a sign that she is learning, step by step, to trust. It is quiet and doesn’t seem bothered by the presence of other animals, but would do best in a calm home where it has a corner to itself, at least at first. With kindness and patience, Amira will become a loyal and grateful companion.
