Rose
Rose’s story began in a way that didn’t give us much hope. We responded to a call about a cat in very serious condition, and as we headed out to her, our hearts were in our throats. We thought that maybe all we could do would be to give her a dignified and peaceful end, far from the suffering of the streets.
But Rose surprised us all. Despite her frail body and numerous health issues, she had an extraordinary will to fight for her chance at life. A long and difficult journey followed, filled with many treatments, check-ups, sleepless nights, and countless hours dedicated by our volunteers. And her fight isn’t over yet.
Rose’s journey has been slow, both medically and emotionally. Life on the streets and the hardships she endured made her wary of people and fearful of any closeness. With a lot of patience and gentleness, however, she began to gain confidence. Today she accepts being petted, sometimes seeks human affection on her own, and is beginning to discover the joy of making friends with the other cats.
As a young cat, Rose has moderate to high energy and is still discovering the world around her. Although she still has a few steps to go before she’s fully recovered, she’s ready for the next chapter of her life.
Rose now dreams of something she has never had: a family of her own. Whether it’s a permanent adoption or even a temporary home where she can continue to thrive, she deserves the chance to experience the safety, love, and warmth of a true “home.”
