Volunteering at Green Cats gives you the opportunity to contribute to improving the quality of life of the animals in our care and to actively participate in changing the community you are a part of. 

 

By volunteering, you'll meet people with similar interests, learn more about cat behavior and care, and develop time management, teamwork, problem solving, emotion management, and social responsibility skills.

Moreover, you will have the opportunity to better understand the current situation, you will learn about the problems and needs of animals in the area and you will directly contribute to improving their living conditions.

  • The cat house: 
    • Daily rounds at the house: cleaning and caring for cats based on a Volunteer Guide
    • General cleaning or periodic organization sessions
    • Socialized with cats or play sessions
  • Rescue and Field Work:
    • Cage trap handling
    • Participation in medical emergency response actions
    • Captured by cats for the purpose of sterilization
    • Trips to foster homes for supplies or medical offices for admissions/discharges
  • Fundraising, Marketing & Content Creation:
    • Creating posts or stories for the purpose of fundraising
    • Social Media Planning based on the algorithm and current trends
    • Marketing strategy 
    • Managing pages like tiktok and instagram
    • Content creation for Social Media and Website: articles, cat information
    • Creating content to inform the community
  • Operational Management and Coordination: 
    • Organizing volunteer teams 
    • Internal organization of cat information: maintaining albums for each cat, creating descriptions of cats that we use for the purpose of promoting for adoption, updating medical information and placement in temporary families, etc.
    • Managing temporary families and their needs 
  •  Event planning:
    • Making handmade objects 
    • Photo/Video during the event
    • Project management team
    • Volunteering at the event: free discussions about the association, mission and values, community education, activities with children, etc.

Volunteering Request: We ask interested persons to fill in the application form by below. Even if you don't live in Cluj-Napoca, but you think your skills can be useful to us, we encourage you to fill out the application form and we will contact you in the shortest possible time!

Candidate Assessment: We review the form to get to know the candidate better, their skills, passions, values, as well as their openness to learning and animal rights and welfare in generic.

Initial Contact: In the rare cases where we reject an application based on the form, notification is made by email.

Otherwise, we contact the initially admitted candidates by written message to confirm their interest, clarify certain aspects of the form and invite them to review our Facebook pages, Instagram and the Green Cats Website to ensure that our values ​​are aligned. With their agreement, the training begins. 

Addition to the Training Group: Candidates are added to the WhatsApp group for volunteers in training, where they have access to the information needed for the training. The training takes place at Căsuța Pisicilor, in the presence of a veteran volunteer, with a minimum of 3-4 rounds required.

Volunteer Validation: Once we mutually agree that they can manage a shift on their own, they become full volunteers. They will be added to the Facebook groups where the activity is organized and will sign a volunteer contract, choosing their duties and the number of hours per month, respecting the required minimum (2-4 hours per week).

Final Allocation: Afterwards, the volunteers will be allocated to the desired activity area, depending on their results and our needs in that segment. There is no constraint or necessity in choosing a single area of ​​activity, nor does it have to remain constant over time, but rather is a dynamic process that emphasizes individual desires and resources.
