Sterilization program

Program description

The free program is intended for community cats, those that are to be returned to the territory following the intervention. We prioritize early pregnant females, but we encourage their sterilization only after prior approval from a veterinarian. For owners with limited financial possibilities we provide reduced prices offered by partner offices; these may vary depending on the location and sex of the cat, falling within the range of 150-250 RON.

We currently have partnerships with firms in Cluj-Napoca, Florești, Turda and Aiton. In addition to surgery, some clinics also offer the possibility of post-operative hospitalization, which is important in limiting infections and other possible problems, but also to ensure that the cat is in perfect health when released. The average price of hospitalization per night is 30-40 lei, and the recommended number of days is 2-3 days for male cats and up to 4-5 days for females.

How can I sterilize a cat?

To enroll a cat in the program, you can contact us at phone number: 0721 947 501, Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m..

In this conversation, we will collect the following information: the details of the situation and the beneficiary's contact details, the number, age and sex of the cats, whether hospitalization is required or post-operative supervision will be provided by the beneficiary, whether a trap cage or transport is required, as well as two dates when there is availability to travel to the vet.

Later, the data will be communicated to the veterinary practice where the intervention will be performed, and you will receive a confirmation message of the appointment with all the necessary details. From the moment of the first call to the confirmation of the appointment it can take up to 2 working days, depending on the level of activity and availability of the partner practice.

When your cat is discharged, the veterinary office will provide you with all the necessary details for post-operative care, but if you have any questions or concerns, please write to us and we will respond during office hours.

The free or reduced-price sterilization program supports cats and those who love them.

Community involvement

We often receive requests from animal lovers who know the difficulties our activity faces, and out of responsibility and desire to get involved, they choose low prices and not free, even if it is a stray cat. These people do not remain indifferent to the needs of the less fortunate and get involved in sterilizing the cats of elderly neighbors, relatives from the villages, or even the cats around the block. We have community members who constantly sterilize through our association, in an ongoing effort to keep the population in the area where they live under control.

We understand the problem of street animals in all its complexity, from the suffering of cats who are born on the corners of blocks of flats and are condemned to a life full of dangers, to the pain of people who cannot remain indifferent, but see themselves overcome by the situation.

We appreciate and encourage community involvement in the smooth running of the program.

Vision for the future

We believe that this project should be continued indefinitely, aware that the problem of community cats can only be solved over time, with perseverance, consistency and a lot of social involvement.

Together we can create a more empathetic world, in which street cats, although they do not have a roof over their heads, have the chance for a peaceful life, without the burden of gestation and all the risks and the difficulties it entails.

Together we make the world a better place, one cat at a time.
